Record Store Day, Saturday April 21

RECORD STORE DAY — SAT., APRIL 21, 10 am – 8 pm
The big day is almost upon us! Please plan to join us for a full day of music and fun while we celebrate independent record store culture. We’ll have hundreds of special limited edition vinyl releases. Big storewide sale on almost everything else. Live music starts around noon and goes on all afternoon. We will have several giveaways going on during the day including a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Forecastle Festival! The Kentucky for Kentucky folks will be here to sell some of their awesome t-shirts. And as always, some good eats — this year we’re thrilled to have the El Habanero Loko truck here to serve up some fresh, authentic Mexican fare. Free bags of swag to the first 150 or so customers. Free Ale-8, while supplies last. Rain or shine!

RSD MUSIC RELEASES
There’s a ton of music coming out — most on vinyl but also a few CDs. Virtually everything is limited edition, and because of the limited nature of these things we’re not going to get everything we ordered or in the quantities we want. But we will have a lot!
Some of the artists represented: Phish, David Bowie, Flaming Lips, Uncle Tupelo, Janis Joplin, Neon Trees, Mastodon, Devo, Justin Townes Earle, Cursive, Civil Wars, Grateful Dead, Metallica, Grace Potter, Edward Sharpe, Bruce Springsteen and lots more!
Please note: Everything is first-come, first-serve. No reserves, no holds. Limit of one per person per item.

(Sale does not apply to consignment items, gift certificates, Record Store Day releases, or already marked down items.)

We have an amazing lineup of music all afternoon, starting at noon, featuring:

Those Crosstown Rivals
Elsinores
Oh My Me
Cough
(Richmond, VA)

KENTUCKY FOR KENTUCKY!
You know those “Kick Ass Kentuckian” t-shirts you’ve seen around town? Well, the people responsible will be setting up a store-within-a-store during Record Store Day. Show your Kentucky pride and pick up a shirt or one of the excellent new “Kentucky Inventions” posters made by Cricket Press. Rumor has it that there will be FREE ALE-8 too!

RECORD STORE DAY LUNCH!
One of Lexington’s premiere food trucks, El Habanero Loko, will be parked outside the store starting at noon, serving up some of the best street food you’ve ever had. Come hungry!
