DIIV – Oshin CD (Captured Tracks)

This ambitious collection of vocals and instrumentals enlists a truly awesome cast of characters in support of an epic vision that combines country/bluegrass, R&B, and even a ballad with roots in the British Isles.

Electric Prunes – The Complete Reprise Singles CD (Real Gone Music)
Though the Electric Prunes were responsible for some of the boldest and most experimental pop of the late ’60s, they always were, more than just about any band of their ilk, a singles-oriented act, at least in their earliest incarnation.

The Flaming Lips – The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends CD (WB)
Originally available as a limited edition Record Store Day vinyl release – Heady Fwends is now available on CD. Here, the Flaming Lips team up with Yoko Ono, Nick Cave, Bon Iver, Ke$ha, Edward Sharpe, and many others. (Note: the Chris Martin track “I Don’t Want You To Die” — which originally appeared on the RSD double-LP version — has been replaced by “Tasered And Maced” (featuring Aaron Behrens of Ghostland Observatory)).

Mark Fosson – Diggin In The Dust: Home Recordings 1976 CD/LP (Tompkins Square)
Kentucky native Mark Fosson recorded one album for John Fahey’s Takoma Records in 1976 which went unreleased until 2006. This is a recently discovered home demo for that session.
