From down the pike in Louisville comes the American Freedom Machine, who will be making their CD Central debut on Saturday, August 6 at 1 p.m. The band has been making waves in the Derby City for a while now and you can catch them here on a sunny Saturday afternoon for free! They describe themselves as indie-country, and if you like the Avett Brothers or Old Crow Medicine Show you’ll probably want to get to know this band!
From their website: The American Freedom Machine started out in Louisville in 2005 playing honky-tonk at dirty bars and dives throughout the area. Six years and three albums later we’re still at it. Members have came and gone and the music has ventured from Country to Rock & Roll and settled into something we call Indie-Country. We all play multiple instruments and live sets sometimes feature unexpected and unconventional arrangements, but never leave the country-roots influence behind. After touring nationally and recording our third album at the former Rove Studios in Shelbyville, KY, we’re releasing ‘Home, the Road, Family and Friends’ on July 15th before heading out on our national fall tour in late September.
