WUSSY – Rigor Mortis

JOHN CAGE – Variations VII  DVD
In 1966 ten New York artists and thirty engineers and scientists from Bell Telephone Laboratories collaborated on a series of innovative dance, music and theater performances, 9 Evenings: Theatre & Engineering, held in October at the 69th Regiment Armory in New York City. The artists were John Cage, Lucinda Childs, Öyvind Fahlström, Alex Hay, Deborah Hay, Steve Paxton, Yvonne Rainer, Robert Rauschenberg, David Tudor and Robert Whitman. Archival material has been assembled into ten films, each of which reconstructs the artist's original work and uses interviews with the artists, engineers and performers to illuminate the artistic, technical and historical aspects of the work.
Variations VII, performed at 9 Evenings, was the next to last in John Cage’s series of indeterminate works that he had begun in 1958, which made increasing use of electronic equipment and systems. This DVD documents the only complete performance of Variations VII and also presents a stereo audio recording of the full 85 minutes of the performance.

Following his feted 2006 solo debut ‘Yours To Keep,’ Albert and cohorts Matt Romano (drums), Marc Philippe Eskenazi (guitars/keyboards) and Josh Lattanzi (bass) return with the new album. (which translates to ‘What’s Your Name’ if your Spanish is a little rusty.) The album comes in addition to Albert's role in The Strokes - he is not leaving the band. Available on vinyl in Lexington only at CD Central!

PETE DROGE -Under the Waves CD
Pete's Comments: This is my fifth full-length record. It's my sixth if you count my side project harmony band The Thorns. I played all of the instruments on this record with one exception, a cello on the title track, which was played by Eyvind Kang. And my co-producer Elaine Summers contributed harmony vocals. Other than that, it's all me.
I played tons of stuff... I'll try to rattle off as much as I can remember off the top of my head: drums, bass, melodica, accordion, piano, hammond organ, wurlitzer, various synthesizers, electric sitar, harmonium, woodblocks, claves, cabasas, triangle, hand drums, tambourine, glockenspiel, guiro, cowbell and shakers. And I played just about every type of guitar you can think of: 6 string, 12 string, acoustic, electric, slide bar, whammy bar, high strung, open tuned, drop tuned, detuned, finger-picked, flat picked, flat wound, round wound, arch top, flat top, double stop, solid body, hollow body, semi hollow F holed, parlor type and more.

DAVID BAZAN - Fewer Moving Parts EP
Known mostly for his tenure performing as Pedro the Lion, songwriter David Bazan recently retired the band moniker to continue making music under his own name. His debut self-released EP "FEWER MOVING PARTS" finds the beloved Seattle songwriter [who was recently named #85 in Paste Magazine's Top 100 Living Songwriters] roaring back to his creative roots, performing and recording everything himself in his home studio, while still expanding his sonic canvas. His signature songwriting, voice, and melodies are framed in layered harmonies, multi-tracked guitars, analog keyboards, and intricate production he was never able to fully realize with Pedro The Lion. The 10-song EP includes two different versions of five new Bazan songs. One version is stripped down acoustic and another version has full-instrumentation. Acclaimed graphic novelist, Zak Sally(of Low) created new original artwork for the EP.
