Dance Gavin Dance – Jackpot Juicer CD/2xCD/2xLP (Rise)
The follow up to 2020’s Afterburner, which topped charts and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200, Dance Gavin Dance’s new album Jackpot Juicer features 18 tracks that serve as the progressive post-hardcore veterans’ first new music in almost two years. Lead single “Synergy” features guest vocals from Rob Damiani of Don Broco. Jackpot Juicer also marks bassist Tim Feerick’s final contributions to Dance Gavin Dance who passed away in April 2022.

Grateful Dead – Europe ’72 [Reissue/1972] 2xCD/3xLP (Grateful Dead/WEA)
Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The Grateful Dead’s iconic Europe ’72 Tour with the original Europe ’72 album, newly remastered. Plangent Processes tape restoration and speed correction, with mastering by Grammy Award winning engineer Dave Glasser. From April 7 to May 26, 1972, the Dead performed and recorded 21 live concerts, plus a set in a television studio, with every night being an exceptional display of the magic that was uniquely the live Grateful Dead. These concerts and this tour, 50 years later, are still considered one of the highest of high points in The Grateful Dead’s performing career.

Grateful Dead – Lyceum Theatre, London, England 5/26/72 4xCD (Grateful Dead/WEA)
Reissuing the out-of-print, standalone show of the Dead’s final performance of their Europe ’72 Tour at the Lyceum Theatre in London on May 26, 1972. This is the Dead’s last performance to feature vocals by founding front man Ron “Pigpen” McKernan before his passing nine months later.

Krisiun – Mortem Solis CD (Century Media)
“Brazil’s kings of death metal Armageddon Krisiun return for their 12th studio album Mortem Solis. Formed in 1990, three brothers Alex Camargo (vocals, bass) Moyses Kolesne (guitar) and Max Kolesne (drums) set forth a path of death metal legacy few bands can imagine let alone compete with. 32 years of straightforward, full throttled and aggressive death metal, always maturing but keeping their sound consistent.

Little Feat – Waiting For Columbus [Reissue/1978] 8xCD/2xLP (Rhino)
This eight-CD Super Deluxe box set includes a newly remastered version of the original double album on CD and three unreleased concerts. The set includes unreleased live versions of songs that appeared on the original (“Rocket In My Pocket” and “Spanish Moon”), along with several that didn’t, like “Cold, Cold, Cold”, “Rock And Roll Doctor”, “Skin It Back” and a cover of Allen Toussaint’s “On Your Way Down”. [A stand-alone vinyl pressing of the original release is available.]

My Sleeping Karma – Atma CD/LP (Napalm)
Post- and hypnotic rock band My Sleeping Karma’s new album, Atma – the logical successor to Moksha – describes the (absolute) self, the indestructible, eternal essence of the spirit, and is often translated as the “soul”. Sickness, death, and existential fear had brought the band to a point in music and life at which they were close to parting ways.

Revelators Sound System – Revelators CD/LP+MP3 (Secretly/37d03d)
Revelators Sound System is the collaborative musical project of MC Taylor (Hiss Golden Messenger) and Cameron Ralston (Spacebomb House Band). A meditation on community that caroms from root-down avant-funk to solitary cosmic minimalism and twinkling dubby ambience. Most importantly it is a deeply emotional record, the running soundtrack to a world in confusion. 10% of the proceeds from the sale of Revelators will benefit Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp.

Maggie Rogers – Surrender CD/LP/Cassette (Capitol)
Co-produced by Kid Harpoon (Florence + The Machine, Harry Styles) and Maggie Rogers, Surrender is the follow-up to the Grammy-nominated artist/producer/songwriter’s massively beloved 2019 debut, Heard It In A Past Life. Over the course of 12 unfettered yet exactingly crafted tracks, Rogers fully captures the frenetic intensity of the last two years of her life, bringing her bracing honesty to stories of anger and peace and self-salvation, transcendence through sex and freedom through letting go.  [An indie store exclusive color vinyl pressing is available.]

Josh Rouse – Going Places CD/LP (Yep Roc)
Josh Rouse wrote the songs for Going Places while hunkered down in Spain with his family in 2020 and 2021. The inspiration was to have a set of new songs to play in a small club run by a couple of his Spanish bandmates.  The result is a collection of songs that feel a bit looser, lean into the guitar a bit more and will sound great in the live setting.

Amanda Shires – Take It Like A Man CD/LP (ATO)
Grammy and Americana Award-winning singer/songwriter and violinist, Amanda Shires, has pushed the reset button with Take It Like A Man, a record that is so unlike anything she has ever recorded that you would be tempted to think it was her debut album instead of her seventh. Shires, who also plays in The Highwomen, worked with producer Lawrence Rothman (Angel Olsen, Kim Gordon) to make a fearless confessional, showing the world what turning 40 looks like in 10 emotionally raw tracks. [An indie store exclusive white color vinyl pressing is available.]

$uicideboy$ – Sing Me A Lullaby My Sweet Temptation CD (G59 Records LLC)
Hip-hop lifted the New Orleans duo of cousins – Scott Arcenaux, Jr. a.k.a. $lick Sloth and Aristos Petrou a.k.a. Ruby da Cherry – out of a violent drug-riddled hood nightmare and into an underground phenomenon.

Tedeschi Trucks Band – I Am The Moon: III. The Fall CD (Fantasy)
The fifth studio project from the Tedeschi Trucks Band is the most ambitious and, at the same time, intimate record that America’s best rock ‘n’ roll big band has ever made: a genuinely epic undertaking in four episodes and 24 songs inspired by classical literature but emotionally driven by the immediate drama, isolation and mourning of the pandemic era. [Vinyl edition due September 9.]

Steve Tibbetts – Hellbound Train: An Anthology 2xCD (ECM)
Hellbound Train is a retrospective from Steve Tibbetts with music selected by the guitarist from his 40 years of recordings for ECM, neatly divided into electric and acoustic chapters. With its liquid melodies, textures, hypnotic patterns, and pulsations subtly influenced by music of many cultures, it’s an ideal introduction to his unique body of work. At different times Tibbetts might seem closer to minimalism, alternate rock, or ambient music, yet his artistic signature is unmistakable.

Various Artists – Elvis [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack] CD (RCA)
Original motion picture soundtrack to the 2022 film directed by Baz Luhrmann. The soundtrack features original music by Elvis Presley plus modern remixes of classic Elvis tracks plus performances by Doja Cat, Stevie Nicks & Chris Isaak, Eminem & CeeLo Green, Swae Lee & Diplo, Yola, Kacey Musgraves, Lenesha Randolph, Jazmine Sullivan, Jack White, and the movie’s star, Austin Butler.

Eddie Vedder – Earthling CD/LP/Cassette (Republic)
Earthling serves as Eddie Vedder’s first solo album since releasing Ukelele Songs in 2011 and third overall. Helmed by reigning Grammy Producer of the Year Andrew Watt and recorded at his Beverly Hills studio, the new collection comes introduced by the singles “Long Way”, “The Halves” and “Brother The Cloud”. Earthling features collaborations with a multitude of music legends including Stevie Wonder, Ringo Starr, and Elton John. In a New York Times Magazine interview Eddie noted: “the album is structured kind of like a concert: The special guests come out at the end. Stevie, then Elton, then we’ve got our “Mrs. Mills” song with Ringo. Then the last special guest was my father, whom I really didn’t get to know.”

Whiskey Myers – Tornillo CD/LP (Wiggy Thump)
“Bluesy/boozy Texas firebrands Whiskey Myers cemented themselves as one of modern outlaw country’s most popular bands with their 2019 self-produced and self-titled fifth record. The acclaim and opportunity the record garnered, including syncing on the popular Yellowstone series, fueled the sextet to work on this sixth outing, a once again self-produced album referencing the border town where it was recorded. Like the previous album, this hour-long, 11-track (if you don’t count the 52-second opening title tune) trawl through swampy, Southern Country-inflected rock does throw some curves, but remains on the dedicated path they have forged over the past 16 years.

Alkaline Trio / Hot Water Music – Split [Reissue/2002] 12”+MP3 (Epitaph)
Limited silver color vinyl pressing of the 2002 split EP from Alkaline Trio and Hot Water Music. In addition to new material, the EP features each band performing cover versions of songs from the other band’s catalogue with Alkaline Trio covering Hot Water Music’s “Rooftops” (from No Division) and Hot Water Music covering Alkaline Trio’s “Radio” (from Maybe I’ll Catch Fire) and “Bleeder” (from I Lied My Face Off).

Sonny Clark – Dial “S” For Sonny [Reissue/1957] LP (Blue Note)
One of the finest pianists and composers of the hard bop era, Sonny Clark arrived fully formed on his supremely swinging 1957 Blue Note debut, Dial “S” For Sonny. Clark assembled a top-flight sextet for the occasion with Art Farmer (trumpet), Curtis Fuller (trombone), Hank Mobley (tenor saxophone), Wilbur Ware (bass), and Louis Hayes (drums). Part of Blue Note’s Classic Vinyl Series featuring all-analog mastering by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes.

Jim James – Regions Of Light And Sound Of God [Deluxe Edition] 2xLP (ATO)
Released in 2013, Regions Of Light And Sound Of God was the debut solo album from Jim James of My Morning Jacket. This Deluxe Edition vinyl pressing features the original album plus a bonus LP featuring 12 B-sides, demos, and alternate versions including “State Of The Art (Demo)”, and the previously unheard ballad, “Begin Again”. The set is housed in a rainbow foil tip-on gatefold jacket with revised artwork, a fold-out insert and is pressed on clear with purple blob color vinyl.

Jethro Tull – Thick As A Brick [Reissue/1972] LP (Rhino/Parlophone)
In 1972, Jethro Tull released the instant classic, Thick As A Brick. 50 years on, the album is still revered as one of rock’s and progressive rock’s most definitive and pioneering albums. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, Thick As A Brick has been reproduced in its original format, the legendary 12-page newspaper. The vinyl is a half-speed master of Steven Wilson’s 2012 remix.

Mary Lattimore + Growing – Gainer LP (Silver Current)
Critically acclaimed harpist and experimental composer Mary Lattimore and big amp ambient pioneers Growing have united for their first collaboration: Gainer. Remastered here from its original release (previously digital-only), Gainer is now available for the first time on vinyl in plush packaging including UV spot gloss “invisible ink”-style jacket printing. Comprised of two side-long pieces, Gainer is less a meeting point of harp and drone guitars and much more a singular creative group vision made up of elemental movements, electrically charged flow and a symphonic aura by three masters of contemporary ambient and experimental composition.
