Featured Music

SOUL by SEAL is a stunning compilation of the best classic soul songs ever created, each with Seal’s unique, signature touch. The songs each evoke an era when soul music vividly captured emotion, drama and romance. The song selection for the album was carefully chosen by Seal and David Foster, and is a collection of songs that both artists were instinctively drawn to.  Check out a few tracks in our pop-up jukebox at http://www.cdcentralmusic.com (just click on the "Artist of the Week" button.)

The Dears - Missiles
The follow-up to their acclaimed Gang Of Losers.  With "Missiles", this Montreal band has emerged as elder statesmen of the indie rock renaissance.

Wild Sweet Orange - We Have Cause To Be Uneasy
Wild Sweet Orange's Canvasback music debut "We Have Cause to Be Uneasy" is a work of exquisite power, its songs propelled by edgy emotion and a cathartic yearning for connection. Tracks such as "Ten Dead Dogs" and "Sour Milk" find the Birmingham, AL-based rock outfit honing an intimate and individualistic sound which veers unrestrained from aching intimacy to a turbulent, seething intensity. For singer-songwriter Preston Lovinggood, the album's provocative title serves as both an ideal statement of intent as well as strong assertion of identity.

Mary Chapin Carpenter - Come Darkness, Come Light; 12 Songs of Christmas
Nearly 20 years into her recording career, Grammy Award winner Mary Chapin Carpenter releases her first ever holiday album.  Rather than simply lending her voice to time-worn holiday standards, Mary Chapin wrote her own set of seasonal songs.  These new songs explore the many meanings and emotions the holidays evoke in each of us.  She also reached deep for a few hand picked gems from other writers to introduce a new kind of holiday record - one that transcends the season!

Lucinda Williams - Little Honey
Lucinda Williams has always been adept at painting landscapes of the soul, illuminating the spirit's shadowy nooks and shimmering crannies -- but she's never captured the sun breaking through the clouds as purely as on her new Lost Highway release, Little Honey.  The follow up to the critically acclaimed West, feature track "Real Love" is already at radio.  The album features a duet with Elvis Costello "Jailhouse Tears".  Other guest vocalists include Matthew Sweet, Susanna Hoffs, Jim Lauderdale, Tim Easton, and Charlie Louvin.

Ryan Adams - Cardinology
Cardinology, the follow-up album to Ryan Adams' critically acclaimed Easy Tiger is a concise and focused collection of 12 songs, showcasing The Cardinals' migration to a cohesive, full-band sound.  Be one of the first to purchase the strictly limited edition deluxe version of Cardinology on vinyl and get it on red wax, an exclusive 7" featuring songs unavailable anywhere else, a custom comic book and full-album download code.

This EP features live versions of songs from Escovedo's latest album, Real Animal, recorded at Sirius Studios, June, 2008.

– Live at Park Ave
In Our Nature, José González' second album, sees González coming into his own as a songwriter – with songs that are as instantly accessible as they are brimming with darkness and brooding intensity. "I like playing with symbolism," says González. "On this album I've wanted to bring out the primitive aspects of human beings." In addition to González on guitar and vocals are Erik Bodin, percussion and Yukimi Nagamo, backing vocals. This EP is a very special recording captured at Park Avenue Records in Orlando, Fla. It features live takes on five songs from the new album In Our Nature, as well as favorites from his debut album Veneer.

Brethren Of The Free Spirit - Wolf Shall Also Dwell With The Lamb CD (Important)
Brethren Of The Free Spirit is guitarist/composer James Blackshaw and lutenist/composer Jozef van Wissem. Named after a cult of thirteenth century Northern European religious heretics, the duo plays with an appropriately zealous intensity. Intricate phrases circle and spiral in on themselves, and in the end it's the subtle shifts in rhythm and tonal coloration that provide a kind of transcendence in a sea of repetition.

The Bronx - The Bronx III CD (RED)
In a tirelessly repetitive age of rock where nearly every bands' value system holds songwriting, tight-legged pants and blog devotion on the same level -- The Bronx remind us of how an aggressive, yet catchy rock song done right is still capable of making the hair stand up on the back of our necks.

David & The Citizens - Stop The Tape! Stop The Tape! CD (Bad Taste)
“After three years, David & The Citizens have actually delivered a record with exactly what they promised. Most groups talk about how their sound has either expanded or altered, but few times (especially in the past ten or fifteen years) has the resulting material been so accurate in description. Stop The Tape! Stop The Tape! sees the production values, especially when dealing with the low-end, bumped up with a bit more confidence and thump. The rhythm section is powerful in its delivery and aids the listeners' head to nod throughout the release.” -- It’s A Trap
